May the road rise to meet you

May the road rise to meet you….

May the road rise to meet you,
may the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

An old Irish blessing

An old celtic blessing for luck, health and happiness. God’s blessing for your journey. The wind, the sun and the rain are symbols of care and provision.

The main characteristic of Celtic Christianity (4th-7th century A.D.) is the connection between the godly heavens (the spiritual) and natural life (the earthly) .

And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

A celtic song

Until we meet again … a beautiful performance by the Musik-Akademie Basel

Another beautiful and inspirational interpretation of the Irish blessing with stunning scenery in Ireland and haunting Celtic music by Arlene Faith.

May the road rise to meet you
The French cyclist Thomas Voeckler of Direct Énergie Team riding on Tertre de la Motte, in Vendome, during the first stage of Paris-Nice 2016.
